We almost always eat leftovers from dinner for lunch.  We cook most nights, and frequently from scratch, and it's just too much effort to go through twice in one day.  Plus, I love leftovers (remember?).

In any case, a few nights ago, we had eggs with our dinner.  Dan was making an extra for his lunch and asked me if I wanted him to make me one, too, or if I'd rather make a fresh one the next day.  Feeling lazy, I asked him to go ahead and make me one then.  When I opened my lunch the next day, I found an egg that was perfectly gooey in the middle, just like I like it.  There's just something about having someone remember your favorite eggs that makes a girl feel especially loved.* **

*Not to mention the fact that he surprised me later that afternoon with no-occasion flowers.  It was a good day.

**I think Julia understands.

  1. The pastels in this look are so pretty on you, Preethi! My hubs eats so much that no matter how much I cook for dinner, it's a rare occasion that we'll have leftovers! PS Love the Runaway Bride egg reference :)

  2. I agree, you look really good in pastels. And over here, for lunch, we just have sandwiches. It always drives my professors nuts - they'll have Americans over at the university and ask the university dining hall to cater, and then all they'll get is ham-and-cheese sandwiches, and raisin bread with cheese if they ordered the fancy lunch. And milk. Don't forget the milk..

But I wholeheartedly agree with the eggs thing.

  3. Cute outfit! I like how your photos are bigger! Leftovers are the best and so are eggs. I just made omelets for lunch for a couple of days and it was soo good!
