Summer Layers

(Hey, thanks for your seriously lovely comments on yesterday's post.  It is just so so inspiring to know that there are others out there with weaknesses and strengths, some even similar to my own!  Mostly, it's just really nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't like toys.  Also, for anyone who is interested, I added in a couple more things that came to mind; it will probably be a running - and ever-changing - list, honestly.)

Dress: c/o JunieBlake;  Henley tee: Forever 21, old (similar); Oxfords: H&M, old (similar); Belt: old; Whistle/Love necklaces: Forever 21 (similar, exact); Bow necklace: Shabby Apple (free gift); Earrings: gift from a friend; Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington

The weather has been seriously gorgeous around here lately.  Pleasant, low humidity, all-around gorgeous.  Perfect for some summer layers, which I brilliantly pulled out on the day the highs shot back to near 90 and the humidity skyrocketed.  I'm a smartie.

I loved this combo, though.  I've been wanting to layer something under this dress for a while, and I think the stripes peeking out are so fun.  I originally was going to throw on a chunky statement necklace, but then decided to scale back with some delicate little layered ones.  I love my little whistle, and the bow was a pretty little color pop.  And the whole thing was still lightweight enough that I didn't die while walking to a friend's house, so that's a win.

  1. Those colors are awesome together, and the layering is very pretty, even if not entirely practical in hot weather... haha!

  3. I could wear stripes every single day. I love this bright teal with the black and white!

  4. I love these layers! I definitely wouldn't have thought to put the striped shirt under the dress but I love it! It turned out really well!
